CUHK School of Life Sciences Travel Adapter

The School of Life Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong commissioned Regent Gifts to produce travel adapters as gifts for its external exchanges and event occasions. A travel adapter is a practical electronic accessory, suited to visitors and partner institutions arriving from different regions.

The School's counterparts come from a range of places, and socket standards vary. An adapter that can be switched between formats meets a real need better than a purely commemorative item. The gift should earn its place on the recipient's next business trip rather than sit in a drawer.

Regent Gifts handled the batch according to the direction the School provided, weighing the School's identity and the purpose of the gift before settling the design. The finished piece needed to look appropriate when presented formally and remain unobtrusive in everyday use.

The adapters were delivered in travel adapter form and distributed alongside the School's exchange schedule. Most recipients are visitors and partners from elsewhere, and the usefulness of the gift on the road carries forward the goodwill of the meeting itself.
